Los Angeles RTD – A bus chaser’s dream!

February 16, 2014 at 11:10 am

The golden age of RTD bus chasing for me was the early 1980’s to the early 1990’s. Back before RTD changed to the Metro, with its 1970’s  sunburnt color scheme, the RTD bus era of Los Angeles was a time where seeing all of Los Angeles was affordable for a kid like me. I have started to track down old ads, toys and pictures from this time, so stay posted as I preview some of the things coming back for you to see from this era. enjoy.

LAPD’s online GANG graffiti

February 11, 2014 at 7:48 am

So here’s the deal youngsters, and old-timers, the LAPD trolls all of our sites, and instagram, and Facebook, etc, so I thought it was healthy and honest to see some of what they post up of “Gang Graffiti.” I hope I don’t ruffle any feathers, I’m not giving up anyones secrets, or shining any lights on fools, the LAPD already had these posted and on blast! I guess the funniest part was what they thought note worthy to post, and what fell into the “Gang Graffiti,” category. Gang Graffiti has a long history in Los Angeles, and you can see it has made its way both across the walls of the world now, and into the gallery circuit. I personally  respect and love gangster “hand styles,” having grown up with them, and am facinated by the evolution of the letters over the years. I was wondering what the LAPD was showing these days, and was amazed at just how much they have out there on the web.

Peeped on the Streets

August 26, 2013 at 8:34 am

This first group of photos comes from Brooklyn, where 4sakn dropped a fresh piece. Elser came through and dropped a little Neighborhood Love logo, while in NYC, next to this burner. Nice use of colors as 4sakn tries new color combos.

It was humid as hell, but we came through, smashed it out and bounced, all in really good time. As usual, we had some local residents thank us for the colorful artwork, that was cool, and had a great time.

Just spoke with this amazing artist who is in the UK until September, if you get a chance to see his work out there, do it. Codak is also on the grind tattooing, so drop him a visit and get blessed by this humble guy.

Hoacs and 4sakn combo wall at Lowbrow art in Brooklyn!securedownload-7

My boys Hoacs and 4sakn hit the outside wall of Lowbrow this last weekend and had some fun changing it up. They told me they had the idea to do every other letter each, so Hoacs started with the H, then 4sakn did the O, and so on all the way through their names. I think it looks cool and it’s great to see these artists trying new things and changing it up. Remember, if you’re not growing, you’re dyeing!

Peeped on the Streets…NYC. 12 oz prophet showing that Neighborhood Love

July 9, 2013 at 11:07 pm

Just wanted to say thank you to 12 oz prophet for the Neighborhood Love mention and shout. It was dope to see 2 amazing and “pushing hard” artist like Hoacs and Buff Monster putting it together in NYC. As soon as I got the first phone pic, I was pumped up to see what they were going to come up with, and they didn’t let me down!

Peeped on the Streets…I WUZ HERE!

June 27, 2013 at 12:47 am

I chopped it up with my boy Siri the other day about life, family and the CBS crew. He was in a great state of mind and had a bunch of positive things to say about the graff game and what I WUZ HERE is doing, so you know Neighborhood Love had to show that support! Siri talked about the future of CBS and where he and his crew is going, about trying to stay on a positive rout and about the rough past and thug life his crew has had.

Just incase you are new to the graff game CBS has a LONG Los Angeles history from the mid 1980s all the way till now, with no comebacks, no lulls, no slowing down over the years, just a steady climb to the top. CBS has expanded over the years out of LA to many cities and countries, but has kept a top shelf of artists as they’ve grown.

When we spoke of I WUZ HERE, he talked of upcoming graffiti events, about just getting back from painting in Texas and about continueing to put forth quality products and finishing a graffiti documentry.

They stay working. Show that support too!
