peeped on the streets! Stephen Pellegrino

July 27, 2016 at 7:05 pm

As NHLV gets back in touch with the heartbeat on them streets, from the East to the West and everywhere in-between, NHLV highlights photographer Stephen Pellegrino. Stephen AKA Emptycans.NYC, shoots images of graffiti, daily life on the East Coast, and scenery of the city. Stephen sometimes shoots people in motion, with streaked or clear clarity on his subjects making them look like ghosts of the city. Enjoy!

Peeped on the Streets…455er’s the sticker game!

April 1, 2014 at 9:15 am

As visual media changes and evolves, so do the streets. Where we once used markers and spray paint, as the years rolled on, we scribed plastic and glass; then etch batch to eat and fog the glass; then we pasted posters; then elaborate stencils; then fancy spray paint tips; then underground marketing aimed at a demographic…you get the idea. The game has changed and will continue to change. This brings us to one very popular medium today, the sticker.

Chopping it up and painting with 7seas CBS in Hollywood, Los Angeles

March 22, 2014 at 5:27 pm

So if you stay up on graffiti then you know who 7seas is. Although, in my opinion he has been on everyone’s radar these last 2 years, he has been around for a while now. Repping CBS and EMT crew and staying in the Bay Area around San Francisco, 7seas has been hitting it hard. While the lean in graffiti styles as of late has been, boxy and basic with European colorful schemes;.  7seas has gone the opposite with basic fill in colors with opposite outline colors, using many popular bright colors, but keeping it strong and basic to really bring your eye in. I would go as far to say he’s one of the dudes out there influencing the next generation on that same color scheme style.securedownload-19

Homeless or Hipster?

March 20, 2014 at 8:54 am

Welcome to Neighborhood Love’s 1st installment of Homeless or Hipster? Now I know what you’re thinking, “that sucks”, or “I think I’m playing my new favorite game.” But the truth is this game can be harder than you think in this day and age. Now the Hipster, an elusive breed of trendsetter is ever quickly evolving, being easy to spot in the past with their super tight pants and “emo curtain” bangs, they have more recently traded in their curly Q mustaches for lumberjack beards that are now bordering on homeless turf. this game started with my wife and myself playing as we drove through LA, but now I feel its time to have the good old internet weigh in on this challenge, so sarcastic jerks, come join me and play round 1 of Homeless or Hipster?
